This is that time of the year when most Churches around the world do
something to decorate and brighten up. After all people come to pray during
Lent and then come for the Easter Mass. Christians the world over celebrate the
resurrection of Christ, the son of God! The feast also happens to have ancient
roots when pagans rejoiced with the advent of spring. Easter marks the end of
harsh winters and the beginning of spring. And therefore most places of
Christian worship adorn the house of the Lord. There is no dearth of church easter decorating ideas. Check out the options suggested below!
Traditionally churches put up a large wooden cross outside or in the
lawn to commemorate the memory of Christ’s journey from the Passover meal to
crucifixion and then resurrection! Modern culture seems to have brushed off
on the Church communities as well. They are resorting to theme decorations. For
example many churches use fresh lilies and white ribbons to decorate the entire church premises on
Easter.
Floral arrangements and large wreaths are a common sight near
altars. Easter banners are a common sight. They are easy to use and help
ornament large spaces. Creating a mini Easter garden also works. It can be
placed near the altar along with potted plants.
For those who wish to do something elaborate spring flower bouquets
can be suspended from the ceiling to add to the overall effect!
